How To Register

LDI DEFERRED THIS FALL 2008
Due to a transition in leadership in the UHR-Office of Employee Training and Development, the next session of the Leadership Development Institute will commence in early 2009, instead of this fall as initially planned.

LDI continues to be an important part of our Employee Training and Development programs, and with your support, we look forward to building on our past successes to continue with a leadership development program that is among the best in higher education.

We will begin to accept applications for the early-2009 session later this year. Registration Requirements
To register for the Foundations of Leadership program, you must meet the following criteria:

Currently be a full-time, regular employee at the University of Maryland
Currently (or prospectively) a supervisor or manager with:

Can commit to attend all training sessions
Obtain your supervisor's approval

Due to the limited class size (25), not all registrations can be accepted.
Acceptance decisions will be based on ensuring equal access to the program. The goal is to have many different departments and no more than one person from a specific department participate in each program. Registrants accepted into the program will be notified at least four weeks prior to the start of the program. Registrants not accepted into the program can reapply for the next semester's program.

Registration Fee
The fee for this program is $500 and can be paid with an Internal Services Request. The Internal Services Request form, with an authorized signature, must be submitted to Holly Nalley, University Human Resources, 1101 Chesapeake Bldg. before the first day of the program.

Registration Instructions
To apply for the program, go to the www.training.umd.edu, click on "UM Classroom Training", and login using your directory ID and password. Next, click "Course Catalog" and select "LDI: Leadership Development Institute". Click on "Register for this section."

Cancellation Policy
If you are selected to participate in the program and you cannot attend, your supervisor is required to email a cancellation notice no less than two weeks prior to the program start date to traindev@umd.edu. Failure to do so will result in your department being charged the full program fee ($2,500). In addition, if you do not attend the program and a cancellation notice has not been received, your department will be charged the full program fee ($2,500).
